DR3000 RL Cover Meter

Overview

The magnetometer is designed to locate rebar, estimate its size, and measure the concrete cover thickness. The DR3000 RL cover meter, robust, easy to handle, and compact, is ideal for on-site use. It comes with a hard carrying case and shoulder strap for easy handling.

The magnetometer locates reinforcing bars, estimates their size, and measures the concrete cover thickness (the thickness of concrete between the reinforcing bar and the external surface). The DR3000 RL cover meter is robust, easy to handle, and compact, and comes with a hard carrying case and shoulder strap, making it easy to use on site.

The DR3000 RL instrument complies with the standard, S1881–204.

The pacometer is a magnetometric, non-destructive instrument used to locate rebar embedded in concrete, estimate their dimensions, and measure the thickness of the concrete cover—the layer between the rebar and the outer surface.
By exploiting the magnetic properties of steel, the pacometer detects ferrous materials inside the concrete being investigated.

The instrument operates based on the eddy current principle, making it resistant to external interference and noise, ensuring precise and reliable measurements.

It consists of:

  • A main acquisition unit

  • A universal probe (S3_RL) with connection cable

  • A scanning probe (P3_RL) that measures displacement and records detected signals along a scan path

  • DR3000-W software for analysis and reporting

All data are stored in the DR3000 unit and can later be visualized through the DR3000-W software.
The DR3000 pacometer is robust, compact, and easy to handle. It comes with a hard carrying case and shoulder strap, making it ideal for on-site and field use.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

Pacometric (or magnetometric) surveys must be performed before any non-destructive or semi-destructive tests on reinforced concrete structures.
Typical applications include:

  • Detection and localization of rebar

  • Estimation of metal element size

  • Measurement of concrete cover thickness

  • Structural analysis of buildings

  • Assessment of steel frameworks as per knowledge levels LC1, LC2, LC3

  • Minimum concrete thickness analysis for fire-resistance (REI) certification
