Rebound Concrete Hammer Testing

Overview

REBOUND HAMMER CONCRETE TESTING (also known as the Schmidt Hammer Test) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to assess the compressive strength and surface hardness of concrete. This method is widely used in construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects to evaluate concrete quality without causing damage to the structure.

Purpose and Applications:
  • Assessing concrete strength: The rebound hammer test provides a quick and easy way to assess the compressive strength of concrete, particularly for in-situ testing.
  • Identifying weak or damaged areas: It can help identify areas of concrete that may be weak or damaged.
  • Ensuring structural safety: The test results can be used to ensure that the concrete meets minimum strength requirements for structural safety.
  • Monitoring concrete uniformity: It can also be used to assess the uniformity of concrete in a structure.
