Geohammer mechanical rock sclerometer

Overview

The Geohammer mechanical rock sclerometer is a high-precision instrument born from the collaboration between the DRC research laboratories and the Polytechnic University of Marche.

The Geohammer is a rock hammer developed during an experiment with the Polytechnic University of Marche, examining various stone material families. This instrument provides a correlation between the rebound index value and the compressive strength of the rock material. Manufactured in compliance with major international standards (ISO/DIS 8045, EN 12 504-2, ASTM D5873-14), the Geohammer is a highly precise and reliable product.

The Geohammer was developed in DRC’s research laboratories following experimental studies conducted in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Marche, where various families of rock materials were examined.
It is currently the only device on the market capable of providing a correlation between the rebound index value obtained and the compressive strength of rock materials.
Easy to use, it provides reliable and accurate information about the quality of the tested material.

Features

  • Reliability

To ensure maximum reliability and efficiency, DRC subjects its entire product line to strict quality control procedures, both during production and testing. Thanks to DRC’s commitment to Research and Innovation, and its collaborations with renowned Italian and international universities, the Geohammer is recognized as one of the safest and most effective tools in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

  • Ergonomics and Sustainability

DRC carefully selects its suppliers based on quality and environmental sustainability criteria. The materials used in the construction of the Geohammer mechanical Schmidt hammer are among the best available on the market. The Geohammer is equipped with a rubber-coated plastic grip, which enhances ergonomics and protects the device from accidental impacts. The Geohammer is entirely made in Italy.

  • Fields of Application

  • Assessment of the homogeneity of rock masses

  • Evaluation of the alteration state of rock materials
